Historic Landmark No. 1112 Community Mission Hills Designated July 25, 2013 |
This house is an excellent example of Master Builder Morris Irvin's unique expression of Craftsman architectural style with Neoclassical architectural elements. Master Builder Irvin combined two distinctive design elements by (A) expanding traditionally thin Roman Tuscan Order porch columns into wide "elephantine" columns, and (B) morphing and expanding a simple eyebrow attic/dormer roof element into a unique and distinctive sloping "humped" semicircular partial width porch roof structure that covers the elephantine columns. |
